Notice of Public Hearing - 2024 CDBG Application

Notice of Public Hearing for Discussion of Possible

2024 State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Application

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Crescent City will conduct a public hearing on August 5th at 6:00 PM at 981 H Street, Crescent City, CA 95531 to discuss possible applications for funding under the 2024 State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and to gather residents’ ideas for possible activities to be included in the application. The meeting will also be broadcast on the following YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@CityofCrescentCityCalifornia/streams. Instructions for participating in the meeting will also be included in the Council Agenda, which will be published on the City’s website.

The City of Crescent City anticipates submitting an application under the 2024 CDBG Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA). The City held a public hearing for this NOFA on October 2, 2023, but there have been changes to the NOFA since then that could impact which applications the City submits. The purpose of this hearing is to review CDBG eligible activities and collect residents’ views on housing and community development needs (which includes services, facilities, and/or infrastructure that will improve livability within the community).

The following information related to the project is available at 377 J Street between the hours of 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM on Monday through Thursday or by emailing the contact listed below:

  1. Amount of funds available and range of activities that may be undertaken.
  2. Information on proposed project(s).
  3. Estimated amounts of funds proposed to be used for activities benefiting persons of low- and moderate-income.
  4. Plans for minimizing displacement of persons as a result of activities associated with CDBG funds and plans for providing assistance to persons displaced as a result of CDBG-funded activities.
  5. Records regarding the past use of CDBG funds.

If you are unable to attend the public hearing, you may direct written comments to the City of Crescent City at the address above, or you may contact Robin Altman by telephone or email at (707) 464-7483, realtman@crescenticty.org no later than 12:00PM on the day of the meeting to ensure placement in the official record of the hearing.
